About this Case Study

User research is a content-driven practice. Assets relevant to building an understanding of users are built by different teams in different ways, which means sharing insights is often difficult and knowledge is sometimes lost.

We worked with Hackney City Council to develop a digital user research library and test hypotheses of how agencies, departments and teams across a local government agency can collaboratively store, access and use user research.

About the Speakers

Lucy Stewart

Lucy is a senior researcher and service designer at Snook. For the past year she has been embedded at Tesco, supporting the PLC to adopt service design by executing ‘live’ projects.

At Tesco, she has contributed to the build of frameworks and guides to support organisations to adopt a user-centred approach. Lucy has applied her design practice to the needs of charities and foundations, including the development of a service design strategy for the Big Lottery Fund. She is now training staff from Save the Children in approaches to human-centred design.

Other work includes user research with fishermen for the development of marine technology, understanding the needs of hospital volunteers in the NHS and contributing to the build of a user research library for Hackney Council.

Her expertise spans across mixed method user research, agile, relationship management, storytelling and data analysis.
