About the Speaker
Phillippa has over a decade of experience in the fields of community street design, collaborative design, community engagement and mediation. With a deep passion for Barking and Dagenham, Phillippa set up Street Space in 2018 to work with local residents and facilitate more participatory and people-centred approaches to both new and existing streets and spaces.
Determined that ‘place-making’ and ‘regeneration’ can be done differently, in a meaningful way that truly empowers local people, Phillippa hopes that through the shaping of the spaces in between the buildings, we can create the conditions for everyday interactions and community to flourish.
Phillippa has a Masters in Leadership for Sustainable Development from Forum for the Future, a degree in English and Drama, is a member of the Placemaking Leadership Council and a Fellow at the Royal Society of Arts.
