About the session

Theme: Trauma-informed Co-creation

Join a dedicated community of practitioners committed to embedding trauma-informed practices across digital services.

This interactive 120-minute workshop will collaboratively develop a comprehensive framework and actionable guidelines, establishing trauma-informed principles as a standard across UK government digital services.

Building on prior discussions, existing UK government initiatives, and international best practices, this workshop invites practitioners passionate about trauma-informed design, research, and accessibility.

The session will draw on the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) trauma-informed principles of safety, trustworthiness, peer support, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural sensitivity — and explore how these can be applied to both citizen-facing services and the lived experiences of public sector staff.

We will also integrate elements of 5D Feminine Leadership — focusing on intuition, empathy, systemic awareness, and co-creation — as an approach to leadership and decision-making in complex change, ensuring that organisational transformation is effective, inclusive, and sustainable.

Participant takeaways:

  • A collaboratively developed framework and detailed set of guidelines ready for practical application
  • Enhanced understanding of actionable steps for embedding trauma-informed digital services.
  • Strengthened professional networks dedicated to trauma-informed practices
  • Strategies for influencing and integrating trauma-informed approaches within governmental policy and practice
  • Commitment through professional collaboration towards a clear and influential manifesto advocating systemic change
