About the session

Find out about Sport England’s transformation journey one year in. Hear from the Sport England team who are guiding an organisation-wide transformation to a service-led model focused on user needs, with the aim of making Sport England more effective.

Hear about first-hand experiences from the team leading this journey. We will explore how we embarked on the journey, ensured leadership buy-in, the launch of the service teams and many of the trials and tribulations we faced along the way.

Steven will discuss what triggered the transformation, how the organisation decided to start the transformation, the central themes of the transformation, and the work done to ensure leadership supported change.

Participant Takeaways:

  • How we identified we needed to transform (and you can too!)
  • How we worked with the leadership and the organisation to create support for the transformation
  • How we introduced services, user centred design and agile ways of working into an organisation when no one knew what the terms meant
  • Lessons from starting service teams. Our experience of scaling up services, communities of practices and process/platform teams

Themes:
Transformation, digital transformation, services, leadership.
