Tricia Nicoll

Tricia has worked in the world of health and social care since 1993 and is passionate about helping people and organisations work in ways that really do help all of us to live Gloriously Ordinary Lives. She started her career as a teacher, developing an early passion for inclusive education. She has led an advocacy organisation and worked for the Department for Health and Social Care - part of the team who helped make personal budgets in social care happen. For the last 19 years she has worked for herself as a general agitator for change.

Tricia describes herself as a long-term avoider of mental health services (although she has seen more than her fair share of the inside of locked wards). Tricia is committed to the principles (and practice) of building genuinely inclusive communities. She has a foster son who loves drawing and foster daughter who is a princess, both of whom happen to be autistic. She loves sunshine, cats, and swimming in lakes (even when she needs to break the ice).
