About the session

Theme: Local Authority Playbook

This hands-on workshop introduces the Design in Local Government Playbook, an initiative to document, support and enhance design practices across UK local government. Participants will engage in collaborative activities to refine the playbook’s content, ensuring it is practical, relevant and impactful.

The Design in Local Government Playbook aims to enhance the adoption of best design practices by local governments. Developed in collaboration with practitioners, the playbook will serve as an accessible, co-created guide to help councils integrate design effectively.

Led by the Service Design in Local Government Network, with support from UKRI (UK Research and Innovation), this workshop is a unique opportunity to help define and strengthen the role of design in public service.
