Introducing the Data and Public Services Toolkit from the Open Data Institute - a set of free, collaborative, non-technical tools to support people designing and delivering public services to identify what data is available, what it can be used for and how to use it well.

About the speaker(s)

James Maddison

James works at the Open Data Institute as part of the advisory team.
He is the content leader for the ODI’s ‘Open Innovation in the UK public sector’ campaign, which includes supporting local authorities to use open and shared data more effectively, in part through the use of the ODI's Data and Public Services Toolkit. He has worked with local and central government in a number of international contexts, including supporting a major transparency and accountability initiative around open data in Ukraine and helping several international government leaders to develop their expertise around open data through study tours and training events.
In addition to working with the public sector, James also has a focus on how data is used and shared by private sector organisations, and has been exploring practical applications of data in the engineering and health sectors.
