About the session

As we move deeper into a 3°C world, systemic uncertainty is becoming a defining condition for how we design policy, public services, institutions and infrastructure.

This talk explores what needs to change when the systems designed to provide stability are themselves under growing pressure, and how we might build new forms of capacity, governance and infrastructure able to respond across multiple, interconnected crises.

Drawing on CIVIC SQUARE’s neighbourhood-scale work alongside examples from others, it looks at what is already emerging in practice, and what it might mean to design institutions and systems capable not only of absorbing disruption, but of supporting deeper social, ecological and economic transition.
