About the session

Public policy design has been gathering momentum over the past 10 years. But 2022 is a landmark year for public policy design. For the first time, the UK’s government and universities are sponsoring major networks that champion design as key for making policy and services that drive outstanding public value.

This conversation brings together the leaders of these two networks together to share perspectives, discuss achievements, identify opportunities, surface dilemmas, and anticipate what’s next.

Participants takeaways:

  • Better understanding of how to talk about policy design informed by practice and academic research and how it connects with public services
  • Assessment of the barriers and enablers to further strengthening design in public policy development in government
  • Anticipation of what next – what the next 10 years might look like

Themes: Policy design, Policy making, Democratic design
