Using design to embed ethics in product development

In the product world, we don’t often think long or hard enough about how what we create may have a negative impact. At Wellcome Data Labs we've been trialling methods for embedding an ethical approach to product development in data science. In this session, we'll discuss how we've used a mixture of design patterns, algorithmic reviews and expertise from the social sciences in order to take a practical approach to ethical product design. We'll share techniques and lessons learned.
